Training is now outdoors as preseason arrives

Training has now moved outdoors to Parc Dupuis  for both Men and Women’s teams. As the first preseason games will be taking place Saturday April 29 versus visiting team Balmy beach (Place TBD) followed by a social event.  It always feels nice to step on some turf after several weeks of indoor training.  As usual this early in the season practices start at 6PM.

Preaseason with Markam RFC

The intercity game will be played sat may 6 at st Julie a full details of the day will be Going out soon. For those who do not know and for those who forget this game is a revival of a home and away event that was played for many years between MIRFC and the Irish Canadians who are now amalgamated with Markham RFC .We are grateful for their response to our request on our 60 Anniversary and look forward to a wonderful day and great competition.  We also look forward to seeing old faces with them and from our side as well please make a special effort to be there.

Alumni Dinner

To mark the return of the visit of the Markham RFC, an alumni dinner will be held, FRIDAY MAY 5th.  Details to follow.

Clubhouse Opening

Before we have preseason games the annual ritual of opening the clubhouse will be taking place THIS Saturday.  Players will have the duty to prep the field for the season as well as participate in a training session run by the teams’s Captains, a “Captain’s Run” one would say.   For those looking for a ride to Saint Julie, carpools are being arranged at Hurley’s for 9AM.  Other volunteers are encouraged to bring gardening tools (rakes and brooms) to facilitate field prep.

Juniors Practice this weekend

The Montreal Irish Junior wolfhounds are practicing this Saturday, April 22nd from 215-4pm at the pointe st charles YMCA, 255 Avenue Ash, Montréal, QC H3K 2R1.  For those interested in the Junior Program contact Dave Keane  Juniors@montrealirish.com

2018 Tour infosession

The 2018 Ireland Tour committee will be holding an info-session at Grumpy’s bar tomorrow April 21 at 7:30 PM.  Hosted by lead tour organizer Clement Broca you will have the chance to see and discuss the tour program.
