Full day of rugby this weekend in Saint-Julie which at least 8 games with all MIRFC teams playing at home and several other clubs renting our field to dispute their matches.
The Women’s seconds played against a very experience Hull Volant and unfortunately could not secure a win. Final tally MIRFC 20- Hull Volant 50.
Many players from the women’s seconds then proceeded to move up to the first team and avenged the loss of the prior game and took a win from the Ottawa Indians 65-0. Kudos to Caroline Fitzpatrick who made 3 tries.
After a 4 weekend break the Men’s thirds finally get a match, albeit a friendly, against a Saint-Jean squad intent of having a good day of rugby. It was nice to see rookies and veterans players play together as they took the win with 7 tries to 3.
The Men’s 1st and 2nds where looking to reverse their losses to the Ottawa Indians earlier in the season. Boy did they succeed, the 2nds won with a combined 52 points to 0 with 4 tries easily completed by Roberts Huw and the the firsts earned a win in a tight game that ended 23-15.
