MIRFC Women Represent Quebec In Canadian Women’s National Championships In BC

The club over the years have put out many representatives for Quebec. The men this weekend had no less than 6 players all facing off against The Rock in a classic battle. As with the men this following weekend Caroline, Erin, Larissa and Claire all head to the Canadian Women’s National Championships representing Quebec.
In a different format to the men, all provinces will be meeting in BC for a battle of the best.
Caro has had a great club season showing some fantastic skills and back row pace. She will in turn lend these skills to the provincial team and the Irish rugby club wish her the very best. Erin has captained the Irish women’s team for over five years now. She has also played a number of years for the provincial side but this will be the first year Erin will get the starting role as half back. She is a gritty little number and we know she will add some fight and spunk to the provincial side. Larissa has anchored the back of the scrum for the Irish over the last couple years and has put her hand up to help the Quebec team. With aggressive running lines and a fearful fend off she will be full of zest and ready to show other provinces some Irish pep. This is Claire Hortop’s first year competing in the nationals. After coming back from the Canada Seniors Rugby Camp she will be using this opportunity to show Canada coaches what she is capable of and hopefully displaying what the Irish members see every weekend, which is power and skill.
The Irish want to wish all the women leaving tomorrow the very best and show them what it means to play Irish rugby, an all for one battle till the end.
Best of Luck
