The Exec Committee recently approved an Off Season Strength & Conditioning Program for the MIRFC players, and persons with interest to join our club. This is a huge step in the right direction for the club.
We have been fortunate enough to establish a link with L’Usine CrossFit Gym in Griffintown. The proprietor, Dominic Adam, is very enthusiastic about establishing a link with the MIRFC and carries an impressive athletic and coaching resume in the S&C field.
The trainings offered will be tailored S&C for Rugby, building up to the 2014 Season. The primary focus until year end will be for the men and women getting stronger and bigger. Closer to the season we will transition into more explosive work. The exec and coaching staff agree that this is crucial to the advancement as a Club.
The Club has agreed to make the 1st session obligation free. For subsequent sessions we ask that players provide a modest fee of $50 towards the program. This will give you access to the 20 Sessions in the table below. So if you are not sure about committing to the program you can come along and see what it is all about.
This will be an amazing opportunity to have instructor led workouts, find off-season training partners and strengthen the team bond.
There are some skeptics out there that think our group of players are not committed to improving. They are wrong.
Let’s prove to them where our commitments lie. Get your mates within the club involved and any others that are on the fence about joining the Irish be they at Uni, Cegep or where ever – now is the time to do it.
Sessions will commence at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 24th at L’Usine Crossfit, 1499 rue William, Montreal, H3C 1R4. http://www.lusine.ca/contact-
us/ The nearest Metro stop is Lucien-L’Allier.
Payment will be accepted in cash, cheque written to the Montreal Irish or Paypay if you wish to pay by credit or debit.
