The Montreal Irish RFC currently has three senior men’s teams. The 1st XV play in the Quebec and Eastern Ontario Super Ligue and are back to back champions in 2010 and 2011. The 2nd XV were unbeaten in the QEOSL Reserves for the 2010 season and were close runners-up in the play-off finals of 2010 and 2011. The 3rd XV side which is geared more towards recreational rugby and beginners, are also back to back champions of Quebec Division C in 2010 and 2011.
During the winter months, practices take place downtown at a The Blackwatch Gym on Bleury/President Kennedy. In the warmer months, outdoor training takes place not far from Atwater Market at Parc Dupuis, Verdun. Montreal Irish welcomes all players of all abilities. All you need are shorts, T-Shirt or rugby jersey, soccer/rugby cleats, mouth guard, water and enthusiasm!
Montreal Irish are fortunate to be the only club in Quebec with their own ground and clubhouse. Home games are played a short drive south from Montreal in St Julie and there are always plenty of cars to share the driving. Games are normally scheduled on Saturdays with noon KO for the 3rd XV, 1pm for 2nd XV and 3pm for 1st XV. See schedule for more details.
