Farewell to Jim Kellet

Last night was possibly the very last MIRFC board meeting to include Jim Kellet, one of our longest-serving executive members, who will be moving to Singapore next week.

Jim has put in countless volunteer hours and has been instrumental in putting together various events/ideas for the club – from the oyster party (happening this year on Oct 23, more info to follow), mini rugby, ties with St. Patrick’s Society, the Montreal Irish Fund at the Canadian Rugby Foundation to our new scoreboard, Jim’s contributions are too numerous to list here and his presence will missed by all.

Thank you for the Irish members that were out last night to toast Jim. And of course thank you Jim.

“Hey folks,

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you. As mentioned last night, joining the club and getting involved at the various levels has been one of my most rewarding experiences in Montreal. It’s a great club, on and off the field.

Thanks also for the send off last night…bringing everyone out to say good bye was a really nice touch. The gifts, too, were awesome.

You folks are a class act!

Behave and have fun, and take good care of the club.

 Jim “.
