John Jones Event Team
Here are the details for the 2017 John Jones Montreal Sevens. We hope you will mark the date and prepare to enter your Men’s and Women’s Squads for the event on September 16th 2017. We also ask you to advise your Club membership to come on by and see the action at the MIRFC Grounds. The event is set for the weekend directly following the Mens Senior Club XV’s Finals.

WHAT: John Jones Montreal Sevens 2017-Seventh Annual!
A One Day Open Senior Men’s and Women’s Rugby Club Sevens
WHY: To benefit the John Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund supporting Rugby
Development through the Canadian Rugby Foundation.
(Providing bursaries for up and coming rugby players pursuing post
secondary education) AND, not least of all, to remember one of Quebec’s
most outstanding Rugby Characters and much loved Academic.
Note: $60,000 raised in 6 years!
WHERE: Montreal Irish Grounds, Ste Julie, Qc.
This tournament is primarily targeted and set up for Quebec Rugby Clubs, both Men’s and Women’s. (The Belgium Barbarians, who assisted in the foundation of the event 8 years ago now return to Montreal every 2 years and will not be preset for the 2017 event.) The event will be opened up to Ontario and US and other International teams if we fall short on entries from within the Province. You can expect a well organized, intense, fun and highly competitive day of Rugby Sevens action. …….so please don’t delay in booking your place by accessing the Event website and locking in your club squad. The event is sanctioned by the FRQ and Rugby Canada and after all it is for a great cause here in Quebec!
