2011 Old Boys’ Dinner an Overwhelming Success!

Our Annual Old Boys Dinner was held on Friday 25 March 2011 at Hurley’s Irish Pub, one of the club’s sponsors.  Almost 60 Old Boys and current players were in attendance.  The evening was hosted by Michael Magee on the mic and the guest of honour and keynote speaker was Dr Pat Parfrey, OC.

Pat was player coach of Montreal Irish in 1982 and 1983,and winner of the Quebec Cup in 1982, as well as Canadian Coach 1996-2000. An Order of Canada recipient, Parfrey is a Canadian physician, specialized as nephrologist and epidemiologist. He is an internationally known scientist and clinical epidemiologist. In addition, he has provided leadership to the sport of rugby, coaching teams at the local, provincial and national levels and serving as president of Rugby Canada.

With the help of Seymour and Larissa at the door, the event made over $2000 for the MIRFC. Thanks to everyone who came out, and particularly Pat Parfrey for his entertaining words and to Mike Magee and John Dennett for their continued enthusiasm, involvement and support of our club. It was great to host Gisele and Danielle and, among others, Roger, Massimo, Greg, Rene and Fred seemed to have a pretty good time catching up with their old coach.
